A sense of place

Marsh is a book from our long running collaboration with Harry Cory Wright, who is widely regarded as one of the country’s finest landscape photographers. He is renowned for his very distinct photographs of the British landscape, captured using a rare 10×8 camera that creates huge images drawing on the vivid colours and dramatic light of the natural world. Marsh is altogether different – 192 pages of small, simple and interpretive charcoal sketches and largely black and white photographs, using a simple pocket camera, of the Norfolk coastal marshes.

“With the drawing, it is pretty ambiguous and that is the most exciting thing for me in the world. Suddenly I feel able to express emotionally how I actually feel about these marshes. It is much harder with a photograph to say how this place makes me feel.”
